September is an exciting and transitional time. Job interviews can happen all the time but the start of the fall is a great time to refresh and go over how to dress for an interview.
Summer feels like it has not been here long enough but somehow we are now firmly in the middle of August. Once August is here,we begin the transition into the fall. The beginning of fall reminds me of new years. As the seasons change, it allows us to have some time to reflect on what we want to achieve in the coming months. It’s a fresh start and our wardrobe can reflect that. I don’t believe that for every new season you have to completely redo your wardrobe. All you need is some new inspiration to rework pieces you already have. There are five different styles that you have experiment with. In previous blog posts I talked about style and having a personal style. In this post I want to expand on this idea because it can be a daunting task to figure out what you like. A style rut occurs when you are no longer inspired or excited to style yourself. If you wear something that makes you feel good, then it can help you feel better. Even if you feel nervous inside, wearing clothes that make you feel confident can help you fake it till you make it. The act of dressing can become a ritual of self-love. It doesn’t have to be stressful or make you feel bad about yourself.
Colour, it can bring nerves to the boldest of dressers. It is pivotal to not only our wardrobe but also to the world we live in. Colour can evoke memories, emotions and even regulate us. The colours we chose can help to express who we are and tell our story. Colours can influence how we dress, with each season magazines claim a colour of the season and even Pantone chooses a colour of the year to be the most popular. There are trendy shades that pop up everywhere and then fade away but for the most part colour is timeless. It is completely up to personal preference and what feel the best for you.
